Yep. Green is green. A car is a car.

And...rules are rules, but rules are sometimes inane, and counterproductive.

Let's flesh this out...rules best applied with context and judgement. I have no idea what you meant, but people that say, "rules are rules" usually dislike context or judgement. This is normal within a bureaucracy, but tends to be galling to a surveyor, who's profession is built on context and judgement. I am pretty sure all boards work that way, judging from the posts about signed applications, and such...but it is still inconvenient.

Did we meet somewhere?

🙂

And, now that I have my license, I think all new applicants should have Masters...no, Doctorates...and internships, long ones!

I sent them 9 hours of courses that required chemistry as a prerequisite - Soils, Wood Tech, and Hydrology as well as Fire Ecology (no prerequisite but it mentioned chemistry specifically in the course description)

... Denied

Ryan?

I have a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University with 4 hours taught from the Chemistry department, no physics. I took statistics and forest mensuration (applied statistics to forest inventory methods) along with the other math requirements. I took 8 hours of biology and ecology from the Biology department. I took soils, hydrology, ecology, and wood technology in from the College of Forestry among the 140-some odd hours of my undergraduate degree.

When I applied to Missouri, they requested that I take the MO Legal Aspects course offered at a local junior college I took the course and was approved to sit to the FS exam.

While I was earning my 4 years of experience after passing the FS, I pursued a Masters degree in Geography from SIUE. I took graduate statistics and I even took an advanced surveying methods course offered through their engineering department and taught by Jim Peterson,

I applied to Texas in January. They require a 4 year degree but if you are licensed in another state, they don't specify the specific hour or course requirements. However, I have enough hours to meet their requirements if I wasn't previously licensed. I took and passed their RPLS exam in April.

I enrolled in physics this summer at the same local community college but it is a brutal time suck of a class.

Nothing wrong with obtaining Doctorate degree, I do not want the "attitude" that apparently comes with one.
