I wasn't sure whether to post this under Education or Humor.
While filling in spaces on a form for a property take for street widening I asked the Engineer who hired me if I showed the area of the taking and the remainder of the lot for a temporary construction easement, would I have to state the total area of the parcel or could they just add the two numbers.
His reply was "This is a bureaucracy. Think 'Stupid' !"

Unfortunately, he's right. I recall I had an issue once with an employee in the Recorder's office who didn't understand drawing scales. I spoke to the Recorder who told me "I can't afford to hire employee's who can think".
When all else fails, think like a dumb bunny. Then do whatever silly thing you just thought of. Asking for proper guidance will produce an ever dumber process.
