Kaitlin Nootbaar, valedictorian at Prague High School in Prague, Oklahoma, straight-A student,
is being denied her diploma because she used the word "hell" in her valedictory speech at commencement.

School mascot, you ask?

I predict that there will be hell to pay for this.

There is all kinds of B.S. pulled by people who get a little power and let it go to their heads.

Here's one from a few months ago where the school required 4 kids to do community service to get their diplomas because their family members cheered too loudly for them.

"HS withholds diplomas because families 'excessive cheering'"

Yup, I was a Red Devil for four years. My daughters, in their sports, were known as Lady Devils. There have been a few complaints through the years from religiously zealous types who have tried to get the name changed.

As my dad was a Blue Devil, he definitely didn't see any problem with being a Red Devil.

Buena Vista, CO...

We were the "Demons". Might have changed by now, haven't been back in years.

Buena Vista, CO...

While nearing Byoo-nuh Vista on our Colorado trip this Summer, Mrs. Cow kept reminding me that it is not Bway-nuh Vista. Called me a dumb flatlander.

Buena Vista, CO...

I know, the hispanic pronunciation got lost somewhere. If you're from there, it's just "Byoonie".

Buena Vista, GA

Is pronounced the same way. And Villa Rica is pronounced Villa (not veeah) Rica (Rickah). Of course we in Georgia tend to make up our own pronunciations at times.
