They said yesterday it might snow an inch or two, but it did a little more:

Last winter was the worst I ever saw here due to the BIG snow. This winter has been more just a streak of small snows, but it never goes entirely away.

The UPS guy just called and made me drive down to the road because he was afraid to come up the driveway.

I have a plow on my quad, but it snapped a pin the other day when the guy who works for me was plowing a little (I was in warmer climes down south). Gotta get it into the garage and see if I can fix it. Not really a problem with getting up the driveway-3 4WD vehicles and one with front wheel drive with snow tires.

Yea, global warming.

thread Hijack

It looks like those pics were taken with a security system, and I am wondering what type. I have a q-see card that goes in my computer and a mix of cameras. Not entirely happy with q-see, but seems to be the only one that works with my computer so far. What type is yours and are you happy with it?

cameras

I installed 3 cameras when I built the house in 2009. They were relatively cheap, probably $100 each. I also bought a DVR. 2 of the cameras worked great at night, one did not. I recently replaced the one that didn't with a much more expensive camera that has pan/tilt/zoom (bottom left). I also installed a camera in the front door intercom (bottom right) that is hidden. I bought a new DVR that I can access with my smartphone as well as a laptop. From pretty much anywhere there is an internet connection I can maneuver the PTZ camera wherever I want. The DVR also senses motion in any view and logs the time so that I can go back and review if need be. My next step is to hook the driveway sensor (down by the barn) so that it also makes a time tag in the log. Right now the driveway sensor (Dakota Alert) just sounds a couple of chimes ($15 each) that I have in a few different rooms.

Here is where I bought the recent stuff (PTZ and DVR):

Dang John, you just need a simple sign or 3.
The first one starts with no trespassing.
The 2nd says you are serious.
The 3rd says "since you have ignored the previous 2 warnings, you have now photographed and identified no less 3 times - leave NOW."

The fourth one says "Trespassers will be shot!"

My wife is somewhat paranoid since we live a ways back from the road.
