What is a "Kraken"?
I have already looked it up and understand what it is but I asked the question last night at the Fire Meeting and got different answers depending on age. So I thought I would ask it here.
James
It's a hockey team from Seattle.
I'd not heard of it, so looked it up and find it is a sea monster that deals in cryptocurrency. Or something like that. 🙂
Kraken
?ÿ
Mmm dark and stormy!
When I looked it up, I found that it was a monster in a video game. When I asked my wife, she said it was the sea monster in Moby Dick. Not something that I ever read. Someone else, a young adult,?ÿ said it was from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. I haven't heard the cryptocurrency or the beverage versions before.
This is interesting:

It is the opposite of a Nekark.

What does a person do if they are dyslexic, agnostic, and an insomniac?

?ÿ
.
They lie awake at night wondering if there is a Dog.
Or....

God a si ereht fi gnirednow thgin ta ekawa eil yehT

And with spell check that was harder than normal.

I know some people who start Kraken when they sit on a toilet.
We had a woman at work who could handwrite backward as fast as forward. Mostly as a novelty, but she usually signed her name that way.

I'm a lifelong dyslexic and can write backwards at will.?ÿ It's been reduced to a cheap parlor trick over the years.?ÿ Writing backwards fluently is small potatoes compared to the rest of the crap I've put up with all my life.?ÿ
I also write backwards AND upside down when I mark lath with various notes like "property corner" or "property line".?ÿ ?ÿThat usually gets a double take from those around me that aren't familiar with my habits.
Two things still give me trouble.?ÿ If I close my eyes and try to picture how to drive to a destination I've been at before; the memory is a "mirror image" of the actual route. I have to be careful thinking in terms of "right turn-left turn".
The second is rear-view mirrors.?ÿ I can't back up a trailer to save my life.?ÿ?ÿ
BTW - It was only a few years ago I realized the word 'ambulance' was backwards on the front of the vehicle...it all looks the same to me.
Glad I don't have to deal with that.
Your description all makes sense to me except why a route would be remembered mirror imaged. If words work either way, why would the route favor a reversal?
Although there is little actual connection to dyslexia, I am reminded of a problem I have with directions.
I can learn an area and picture where things are in relation to each other and to compass directions.
But what I learn in one area feels different from what I learn in another area. I think my first exposure to maps was in a schoolroom where they were on the west wall.?ÿ That ingrained an association with directions that wasnt correct.
So when I travel between the city I've lived in for 48 years and my hometown, I have to be very conscious of saying directions. That "feel" carries over and I'll say the wrong one.
