Now I have to go to work.
Insomnia?
Nope, normal operating procedure, I usually wake early but this was a bit too early even for me.
It's all a part of the rich pageantry of life!?ÿ ???? ?ÿ
As a diabetic, I have found that low blood sugar can cause insomnia.
No worries there, my blood sugar is wonderfully low.
And high blood sugar gets me up a lot at night to get rid of excess fluids. I have new monitor "Freestyle Libre" that doesn't require finger sticks. I keep the monitor and insulin pen in the bathroom and can adjust as necessary.
Andy
Yeah, changing the time messed me up too. Was up at 3:00 instead of my usual 4:00-4:30. I can't even sleep in on weekends like when I was young.?ÿ
As Andy Bruner mentions below, high blood sugar in general leads to extra night time trips to eliminate extra fluids. Meanwhile, low blood sugar during the night can cause insomnia. Getting up to visit the bathroom contributes to the onset of insomnia sometimes.
Stacy, I have forever been cursed with this early to rise crap and sometimes my eyes will just pop open and try as I might going back to sleep is rarely possible. My body just demands I get up and get at it and I have to grudgingly obey. Now I am not happy about it but I do it. I am envious of folks who can sleep long.
My blood sugar is nowhere close to being diabetic and truth be told it is more on the low side most times. You should stop, your're almost sounding like my mother.
Sometime after I reached 40, I noticed that my internal clock was changing. And like you, I'm envious of those who can sleep in. It can be pretty boring that early when you try to keep from waking anyone else.
I used to have insomnia until I read the book below. Changed my thinking and approach to sleep. Highly recommended.
The Sleep Book:How to sleep well every night by Guy Meadows
?ÿtry as I might going back to sleep is rarely possible.
It seems that this is the main issue with people who have insomnia/sleep problems. It is the trying to get to sleep that is keeping you awake. People who sleep well every night never try to get to sleep.
People who sleep well every night never try to get to sleep.
Is it that they go to sleep because they don't try, or do they not try because they are already soon asleep?

Probably both really. I have given it more thought writing this sentence than good sleepers probably do in a lifetime.
When I can't fall asleep I use the 4-7-8 breathing. It works every time for me. ?????ÿ
(stolen somewhere (sue me, I dare ya))
The?ÿ4-7-8 breathing?ÿtechnique, also known as "relaxing?ÿbreath," involves?ÿbreathing?ÿin for 4 seconds, holding the?ÿbreath?ÿfor 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds. This?ÿbreathing?ÿpattern aims to reduce anxiety or help people get to sleep. Some proponents claim that the method helps people get to sleep in 1 minute.
edit: it does not mention it above but you are supposed to inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Correlation does not equal causation. For some fluctuating sugars make sleep difficult. For others, lack of sleep cause the fluctuations.
I've been dealing with sleep issues my whole life. I waffle between insomnia and extreme tiredness during the day. I finally had a sleep study done and things are improving. Rely on the professional and things work out. Sound familiar?

drank 3 cups of coffee
I think, maybe, I see your problem......
Well.....you see I drank the coffee after I was already awake with no hope of getting back to sleep.
