Fact number one-----Until your post I had never heard of The Giant Spider Invasion.
Fact number two------ I enjoy watching the old Perry Mason show almost every weekday night at 10:30 p.m.?ÿ While watching it tonight the thought struck me that although I enjoy watching William Hopper as private investigator Paul Drake and Barbara Hale as Perry's confidential secretary Della Street I don't know what other roles they played over their careers.?ÿ So I went to IMDB to learn more about each of them.?ÿ It turns out Barbara Hale was in The Giant Spider Invasion.
What a coinkydink????
BTW, I also learned that William Hopper was a Navy frogman in WWII who worked in the very dangerous field of underwater demolition.?ÿ The stress is credited with turning his dark blonde hair to be white.?ÿ It also turned him into an alcoholic.
I'm a big fan of 1950s "science fiction" movies, and some pretty big stars appear EARLY in their careers in some of them.
Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956) Raymond Burr (reporter)
The Thing from Another World (1951) James Arness (as the Thing aka "giant carrot")
Radar Men from the Moon (1952) Clayton Moore (as Gangster)
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953) Lee Van Cleef (as Army Sharpshooter)
Them (1954) James Arness (FBI Agent), Leonard Nimoy (as Army Staff Sergeant), Fess Parker (as "crazy" pilot)?ÿ
Revenge of the Creature (1955) Clint Eastwood (as lab assistant)
Forbidden Planet (1956) Leslie Nielsen, Earl Holliman, Jack Kelly, James Drury, et.al)
There are many others, these are just a few off the top of my head.

To clarify...I'm bored sitting in front of a screen. For the last 18 months or so I've been spending at least half my time doing business development related work.
This "work" involves (monthly) going to 4-6 large luncheon meetings (100 people or so); a couple of dinner meetings; pre-bid meetings; contractor/agency open houses; networking happy hours; attending conferences; visiting existing and potential clients offices; and taking same to lunch.
@james-fleming I hate to break this to you, but those days are gone until a vaccine or herd immunity is reached. I would not be surprised if all conferences of that scale are done for a year or two. Things will go small scale for a bit. Now the dinner and schmoozing may be back in a few months, but better get used to that screen.
Well made it to quitting time on week three working from home. Personally, I am still very busy at work and work load is moving along as normal. How was everyone's week?
@stlsurveyor, ditto, generally. Although, I appreciate the slight slow down of the ring-ring allowing me to try to feel as if I am staying caught up ~ ish.
I've eaten 5lbs of banana chips, 2 boxes of peanut brittle, God known how many chocolate raisins, 14 bananas, gallon and a half of?ÿ tropical sherbet, jerky, peanuts, M& M's, Doritos, Funyms(?), cracked seed from Hawaii, a bag of Chips Ahoy, and 5 lbs of OrIda fast food fries.
And that's just snacks. BMI still at 22. (subject to change) ?????ÿ

Sounds like an upward trend may be starting.?ÿ I also find that the kitchen is too close to ignore sometimes.
It Came from Outer Space (1953)
20 million miles to Earth (1957)
Don't forget;
Red Planet Mars (1952)
Killers from Space (1954)
It conquered the World (1956)
Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957)
For extra credit:
The Crawling Eye (1958)?ÿ
From Earth to the Moon (1958)...George Sanders (voice of Shere Kahn in Jungle Book) carries the whole movie, not Joseph Cotten's finest moment.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the "classic" Killer Klowns from Outer Space" (1988).
It's not a 1950s film, but it IS pretty weird.

What about "Earth vs the Flying Saucers?"
I'm still doing field work, no people involved (unless you count me).?ÿ And the response time from OPUS Projects is fantastic!?ÿ I can run an adjustment and get the result within seconds.
We're getting quite a list together, and MANY of these are free on Youtube.
Somewhat off topic, all 14 of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce "Sherlock Holmes" films are also free on YouTube (most of them in pretty good shape too).

I have a long list of projects waiting to be done.
Research is done, now the rains need to stop and let me get to it.

Out jumps good old Santa Claus.

All for the little ones' Christmas joys.
