So if I click the like button; does that mean I like the fact that this guy will some day a prime candidate for the Darwin Award. Or; that I like that Paden probably thinks the same thing.....:-S
Edit-where's Kent! Something like this used to get him commenting on how; only in Okieville; or some such...B-)
From OKC east there is more water than anyone should have but head west and it begins to disappear rapidly. Those in far western Oklahoma think nothing of driving a couple hundred miles to find somewhere to fish. I think Lake Carl Etling, just a few miles from New Mexico, is the only lake in the entire Panhandle.
Those of us in Kansas send our silly people to Oklahoma to drown. Or, like last week they drown here but float half way or more to some Oklahoma lake to be found. Grand Lake in northeastern Oklahoma is where most animals lost to massive flooding in this area go to be eaten by giant catfish.
I haven't been to Etling in years. It still there?
Now more than ever, I believe. They have actually had that rare climatological event called rain more than once this year. My wheat crop qualified as one of the top three in the past 20 years.

You got wheat this year on the "Holy Swatch" out there in Baja, OK?
I was as surprised as anyone. Renter told me that in March he gave it up for dead. Then it sprinkled. Then it actually rained a few times. I think he took his six year-old grandson out into it so he could claim he had experienced rain at least once in his lifetime.
Draw a triangle with Keyes, Griggs and Eva (Four Corners) at the corners. Find center of triangle. Pretty close. Almost identical distance to Colorado or Texas. Add less than a handful of miles and reach Kansas.

When I was a kid growing up in the panhandle of Texas, I often heard the comment "We are in the middle of the best fishing anywhere, 300 miles any way you go!"

we used to try and see what was possible to use for bait- the catfish and the sailor's choice aren't particularly picky animals. dog turd soaked in gasoline? you'll probably get a bite...
