Hey Snoop, you guys did an ALTA for us a couple of weeks ago and we do not see the water line located on the drawing.
Yes that is correct - we were not contracted to located underground utilities on this ALTA.
Oh - the water line is underground?
Yes they are underground. (as opposed to the over head water lines you normally see)
DOH!!!
That reminds me of the time we were out staking curb across the street from an existing subdivision. A guy came out and asked what we were staking and we told him it was for an overhead glass sewer.
Needless to say, I got reamed back at the office later that day.
Tell him it hadn't rained recently when you did the field work so there were no puddles to locate with 'water lines'.
Overhead perforated sanitary line. Usually confuses them long enough to make my getaway.

underground airport...
Years ago my crew chief told everybody that asked in a small town north of here we were subdividing land and they were putting in high dollar houses.
That was the talk of the little town. It even ended up somehow a four lane was coming through also.
Trailers pulled in and small houses were built on the subdivided property.
No four lane ever came through, they still have the 90° bend in the two lane State Route which also happens to be the most interesting thing about the town. Except for Jessica Lynch. But the next bigger town up the road stole her away and took claim of her residency.

You talking about Mineral Wells? My wifes family is from the Palistine and Elizabeth area of WV and always saw the Jessica Lynch sign at Palistine....we get over there a lot doing her geneology at the Elizabeth court house...of course I'm checking the old surveys....
John
Last time I went through the sign was just outside of Elizabeth. Is there a sign at Palestine too? I never noticed if there was.
I was talking about Palestine. Just before the 90 in the road take a right and the property is the next left. (coming up route 14 from Roane county) No high dollar houses there. 🙂
I kinda like the Elizabeth courthouse. It's still somewhat behind the times but at least they have indoor plumbing now. When I first started surveying in the 1990's the latrines were still outside. They weren't outhouses but weren't much better.
I like doing research there. Most everything in micro film but across the haul are the old deed books. Almost never anybody else in there and I listen to the clerk employee cuss like a sailor about everything the whole time I'm in there. She's a nice lady though.

I found this on the net.
