Curious as I was wondering how long does it take these days to make Major in the USMC? Used to be (after Viet Nam) a lot of guys retired at that rank due to the difficulty of getting promoted.

I am still waiting to hear if a cousin is going to accept a Bird on his shoulder. It seems that if he accepts he will have to leave Alaska and he really wants to stay there.
