The Tsunami around Pacific potentially catastrophic as waves higher than many atoll islands.

I hope our Hawaiian friends are high enough above the sea.

Our nephew's home in Hawaii is at 10' elevation. They have moved to higher ground.

Our prayers are for all those in harm's way.

They have a video of the Tsunami coming in on CNBC ... scary stuff. You can see cars trying to get away getting bowled over.

Incredible tsunami on Japan, they are reporting no significant damage from the tsunami on the Hawaiian Islands at this time, as the wave passes by Oahu..

Daryl Moistner!! Check In Please!!!

Told my friend last night when she posted about the quake to look out, tidal wave is coming to Japan. 🙁

Sirens have sounded on our coast...it's expected at 7:24 am. The news is showing the receding of our bays and other areas on the coast. Eeery.

Daryl Moistner is in Newport!! Please check in with us, dude. We're suppose to meet up with him later today in Portland.

Hope he has his camera ready. That guy can take some nice photo's. This is some bad stuff headed our way. Peter E posted a NOAA map on FB that shows the projected time for the waves to hit. Hope all are safe where ever the waves hit.

I heard about this last night as it was happening. As a DOT worker, we are on call
in case we are needed in an emergency. It looks like we avoided serious damage, but we do have several miles of highway very close to sea level and subject to flooding even during high surf events.

There are still access restrictions to some parts of the island just until the tsunami danger is completely gone, but we will be looking at parts of those highway sections as soon as it's practical.

As for our own place, we have several hundred feet to spare.:-)

Brad, Glad you are OK!!!

Did any of Hawaii get any waves that caused damage? I haven't seen much on the news here so I hope not. 😐
