Dave - The name “Paden Cash” was coined by the Internal Revenue Service in 1976 during a “brainstorming” conference in Antarctica. This person, all by hisself and because of mattresses full of stashed money and vintage Playboy magazines, caused turmoil never before seen resulting in the IRS having to employ 43 additional personnel to sort out the mess this person was responsible for. After a considerable amount of time the statute of limitations expired and no charges were filed. There are, however three agents employed full time simply to monitor him and make certain this never happens again. ????

@flga

Sometimes Richard is simply Richard and Robert is simply Robert and Samuel is simply Samuel.

I always took it to be a play on "paid in cash."

Certainly that, too. A theme of puns as well with his other family members.

@bill93

Just to set the record straight:  On old highway 62 east of Paden, OK there use to be an old rusty "Purina Chow" sign that proudly announced the name of a business as "Paden Feed".  I believe it was on Main St. in the old brick dry goods store building.

Someone in the truck made the remark it must be a sign for an engineering co., a remark slanted at the seemingly cheap engineer we worked for at the time.  About that same time there was a morning radio program that had daily "ads" for a fictitious winery, the Hiney Wine Co.  This winery was supposedly owned and operated by two brothers, Big Red and Thor Hiney. Of course they had a sister named Ophelia. Their complaint department was ran by Helen Waite.  It was the highlight of the AM morning radio show.

After we saw the Paden Feed sign everybody in the truck just "rolled" with their version and take-off of the numerous possibilities with that name.  I've forgotten more of them than I've remembered.  We're talking 1979.

Everyone wants to be unique. Why not start with their name?

A search in the Members list shows at least 30 registered users whose first name appear to be Bill or Billy, and 15 as William.?ÿ Plus I know of another frequent poster who goes by Bill sometimes but doesn't use it as his screen name, and a very frequent poster named William who doesn't use it here.

This forum, like everybody's accounts, is awash in Bills.

I use Fl/Ga because I’m still under pressure from that silly statue of limitations thingy. ???ý

Some parents should not be allowed to name their own children. That's all there is to it.

One thing nearly everyone hates is needing to spell their own names about four billion times over a lifetime because their parents thought they were being cute. Today's new one to me was: Addicyn.

Caryn, Karyn, Karen, Karin, Carrin, Karrin
Emily, Emilie, EmmaLee
Darryl, Darrell, Daryl, Darel, Deral
Alan, Allen, Allan, Alin
Susie, Suzie, Suzy, Soozee
Even Michael ends up being Micheal in some cases.
Philip and Phillip is confusing enough
Worked with a fellow whose name was John John, not sure about his middle name, I was afraid to ask.

"Hi, this is my brother Darryl and my other brother Deral."
