Ran in the Macon, Georgia Labor Day Road Race and finished with a time of 26:27 at an 8:31 per mile pace. Race began at 8am with a temp of 74 and the humidity at 96%. Placed 18th out of 68 in the 50-54 year age group.

15 yr old son finished in 21:50, 24 yr son finished in 29:41 and the wife walked the course in 50:03.

Youngest son and I finished 4th out of 50 in the parent/child team category.

Had fun and am looking forward to doing it again.

Came in before your son. I'd never live that down if it were my dad. 😀

Great job.

Great job! I was impressed that you were training for it - that was smart. I went out and did a 5K trail run last November after not having run in decades and with the wrong kind of shoes (very low profile with no cushioning). I ended up with a sore heel (a lump in the middle of my heel pad that feels like a bruise when pressed) that still hasn't cleared up.

Wow! Great time. No way you can beat a 15 year old!! I just do the math when discussing my run times. It takes more energy to move my 200 pounds than some young string bean! F=ma.

Nice job! I ran a 5k this weekend in 29:03 without any training. My 5 year old did his first and finished in 50 minutes with my wife. He ran the first mile, then walked and ran the rest.
