My oldest daughter went into labor yesterday afternoon with my first grand child. We were all pulling for her ( & baby) to make it happen on Feb 29 so that he'd never get old.

Well, seems he's a bit stubborn just like his mom & (now)grandma & grandpas and waited until 6 am (EST) today.

So it's gonna be March 1 for him and he'll have to get old just like the rest of us.

Calvin Jeffery Snippe (Griffin) is 20" tall and weighed in at 7 lbs 12 ozs, with all 21 digets, fully operational breathing techniques, and fully functional orafices regarding both input and output of food. Mom is still resting, but doing fine.

Cheers to all you beerlegging parents & grandparents.

Hope that 21st digit didn't come with a nail on the end of it.

Knowing his gramma (my ex), it will have not only a nail, but it also will be barbed....:-P

Saturday is when my first grandchild will celebrate her 15th birthday. I must have been a child groom.

Very happy for you! That's great.
Calvin, huh? Did you at least put in a request for " Gordie"?

Too funny Don. I actually did ask about the origin of the namesake, especially since none of them come from my heritage (or her moms).

Calvin was the uncle that raised Mike (Calvins dad) after Mikes dad's very early exit from life. Jeffery was Mike's grandfather's name, who was also a key component to Mikes life. Mike has my kudos and is a pretty good guy!!

All in all I think it's all good. Any name with some heritage is worthy of that heritage. My guess their next kidlet will include some kind of wayneism. Or a coreenism (her mom).

PS - My son Jacob middle name is Wayne.

PSS - In regards to Gordie, my SWMBO already has an in route via Ebay a onesie baby kind of thing (6-9 month) that is Red, features the Red Wing logo, and includes a bonus pair of white baby kind of socks bearing the Sacred Winged Wheel.

...poor kid doesn't know what he's in for....;-)

PSSS - Thanks all you Beerleggers, including Wendell & Angel for all they do.
