Has anyone ever mounted a mailbox on?ÿ?ÿ a tripod? Mine was knocked down today and I have some old tripods which got me?ÿwonder if it can easily be done.
I've been planning that myself!?ÿ But, not yet
The problem with a tripod setup is that the mailbox does not project beyond the legs, and the legs hinder access.?ÿ If you get creative and don't set the tripod in the normal manner, it loses the visual effect.

TxDot will replace whatever you use with their own standard mailbox post.
Does TXDOT have jurisdiction over all roads?
Only the TxDot roads, rural roads most everything is used.
Postman can complain if it is difficult to deliver mail.
Postmaster has final say about type of mailbox everywhere.

Been there, done that. My son had the idea, I just implemented it.
A good friend of mine, Andrew Stokes, has his office mailbox on a tripod. It is pretty cool.

I drive by that mailbox twice a day.?ÿ I'll stop and get a picture of it if I don't forget.
I'd move it to a different spot everyday just to mess with the mailman.
Or raise/ lower it every few days to mess with the mailman.?ÿ
A plumb bob would look right.?ÿ

bout a year ago i bought some land in an old large tract subdivision that seems to be inhabited by a few distinct demographic groups, the common element between all being a leave-me-the-f-alone mentality.
was driving around just getting a lay of the land right after we closed, and found this mailbox in front of one of my neighbor's place, bout a 1/4 mile up the road.?ÿ sums up the place pretty well:
I'd driven by that mailbox, or one very similar, outside New Braunfels or Seguin. Trying to remember back to exactly where; this was '06 when I saw it.
this one is about 20 minutes south of Bastrop. And you??d have to be pretty good and lost to stumble across it.
