Thanks Wendell, and EVERYONE else! I am find in noting that I think you are talking of me, but I appreciate your cover of anonymity.

I am fighting a pretty serious infection, and this morning had my surgery in less than a week when the first sign of an issue showed up. I am now on "house arrest" (got to stay at home, no exceptions) and missing my roles at the local Surveying & Mapping Conference, at work, and for personal plans and commitments to a human power cross-Alaska race, but know I am doing the right thing. I am very worried I am becoming antibiotic immune, as I have had to unfortunately had lots of call to dose heavily in the past couple of years, they just don't seem to work very well on me.

But I have faith, and appreciate all of the concern and support of my Beer Leg comrades. I am on some pain meds, but will be perusing Beer Leg a bit more in my house arrest status.

I'm feeling the vibes, and need all of them and more! 🙂

I was so hopeful after today's procedure, but tonight it is not looking like anything is changing, its getting worse again...... I'm trying not to get freaked out, but getting more worried as each day is at best is trying to keep the same and not getting worse and have lost the battles most days. I had hoped tomorrow was a day without a Doctor's visit, now I give it even money I will have to go in.

Sometimes you just need to know that people care.

If this is one of those times for you, I'm one of those people.

Franklin Roosevelt once said, "When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."

Best from Bec and I. If there's anything you need Mike, please don't hesitate to call me. I'm probably no more than 20 minutes away. My cell # is 229-7024. I'm on house arrest for at least the weekend, getting both knees worked on (arthroscopies) but should be up and around next week. Get healed up, bro'

Sending vibes from AR to Ak, but will keep them below 2 on the rector scale. Take care and get well.

All, I must have gotten the good juju from all of the positive thoughts, looking better today, and pain is way down. My worries of last night are no longer relevant, infection appears diminishing and perhaps the antibiotics are finally doing some good. It may be a day without Dr. visit, but have a checkup scheduled tomorrow.

@JD, wow both knees arthroscopic rebuilds? Are you crawling around? 🙂

Northern...

Will be crawling tomorrow! Arthroscopics aren't that bad. SWMBO will take good care of me. Besides, the "mothers little helpers" the MD gave me, I don't care!
Glad you are doing better, Mike.

Update 2-25

Back from the Dr. for another open, drain, flush... Repack and add drains.

Now the bad news, infection is Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureu, most commonly known as MRSA (pronounced merca). This is a bad boy. Notice resistant in the name. It is penicillin resistant and most antibiotics. Makes sense from what I am seeing.

I am on continued house arrest. Another visit on Monday is scheduled. Feeling pretty helpless either about how I contracted it, and how to get rid of it. Neither apparently involved any fun.

Bored at Home

Update 2-25

Holy crap, Northern! There has to be something that can kill this off?? 🙁

Thank goodness you can stay home at least...if you were in the hospital they'd be poking, touching, prodding, zapping, drawing, etc... from you so much you'd not get any sleep.

We'll keep praying for ya, buddy!! ? Hugs ? :hi5:
