...as in divorce.?ÿ And that's a shame.?ÿ I hate to see people go through all of that junk.

?ÿ

But it put my divorce in a different light for me.?ÿ I thought I got raked over the coals financially when my ex filed on me.?ÿ But I don't feel so bad after reading this.?ÿ Bill Gates probably leaves bigger tips than the entirety I lost in my divorce.?ÿ It's all in the perspective.?ÿ ;)?ÿ?ÿ

It's funny (not HaHa but strange) that marriage has gone from 2 people in love, promising to stay together until death; to 2 people entering into a legal agreement binding?ÿ them until such time that one or the other breaches that agreement.

I'm single, if either one of the Gate's would like to get re-hitched.

If you have to give up half of 130 billion; you still have half of 130 billion!

Community Property State...

?ÿ

Assuming Bill owned all of the stock he now has in Microsoft long before he even met Melinda, then I wonder how much he would have to pay out. I mean he is valued at $xxx Billion, but he really has Y (number of microsoft stock), which is an asset he had before marriage.

Will be interesting.?ÿ

Turns out money really does buy happiness if you have enough of it.

@bstrand

I've always figured that money really can't buy happiness, but it sure can make misery a lot more enjoyable.

46 for me; I was 18 for 9 days; we were married on my mother in-laws 50th birthday. No major problems; but then we have a high tolerance level.

I stood there in front of friends, family, and God; and said till death do us part.

I am a man of my word; maybe their vows didn't include the same verbiage.

My Dad used to tell me on the subject of marriage, 'one way or another kid, you are going to pay'.

The irony of all this is that if Bills and Mels go online looking for a surveyor to help divvy up their properties, their own virtual empire that they've created will lead them straight to this Forum.

Could be.?ÿ But several properties I've surveyed for "notable and influential" people I've had no idea who owned the places until I got there.?ÿ It's always been an attorney or representative that approached me.

But you can figure it out quick.?ÿ Especially when they want to know when you're getting there, where you'll be at all times and when you're leaving.?ÿ Garth Brooks mother's place was the exception.?ÿ She wanted to know if we all wanted some iced tea.?ÿ

It was sweet tea and I prefer unsweetened, but I didn't say anything.?ÿ 😉
