I have been to 6 farm agricultural stores to get much needed supplies that are usually available because of the supply chain issues. It is not funny anymore. Now they say its not covid but our computers are not working properly to order supplies. ?ÿ(Pick up a phone and call the suppliers it worked for years before computers)

friends young daughters both get ear infection he gets prescription goes to pharmacy has written prescription in hand. Tgey take prescription and say oh yea i filled that already its on the shelf mr x. He said awesome can i get it. She sais no sir our power is out and we filled it just before power went out. He said well how much. She looks at tag and sais 14$ or so. He gives her a 20$ bill and sais here i will take medicine and such. She said she canƒ??t count change power is out. He said keep the change my 2 year old is in pain my 6 year old is in pain. She saiss I cannot. Ask to speak to manager. She said i am the manager. So 1 hr and 45 minutes later the power comes back on and bam he gets medication.?ÿ

my two oldest kids flights canceled. Son is 24. Canƒ??t rent a car canƒ??t find another flight. I say use my name use my card get rental car. He is old enough to drive a tank in combat but no rental car. It is as if the whole society is collapsing from so much reliance on a machine and a rule with no common sense. I call rental car place and finally get someone to rent me a car because of the south west debacle. She said there is a rule but if under 25 its a 15$ extra fee for most. I am like what we could have had a rental car a day ago. She said yes but not everyone is taught that. They just say no itƒ??s easier.?ÿ

Speaking with my 87 year old neighbor. He is retired. He ran a pharmacy and when computers came out and they forced everything on the computer he sold out. He said i loved my job I interacted with each of my customers. Then computers came out and everything was in that so it was not fun anymore. ?ÿHe said i could get a prescription changed back then quicker than i could with computer. He is 87 and still sharp as a tack. He laughs when he has to go get medicine now. Because he sais it still takes them longer than knowing how to measure back then now. He rattles off what all he needs and how they should do it as someone follows the commands on the screen. They say how do you know that. He said i use to be a pharmacist and we had to know that.?ÿ

i like technology and love to use it. But I donƒ??t rely on it for my whole purpose in life to function.?ÿ

I bought 6 syringes for the cows to give medicine and I only needed 1. 5 out of six were broke. That was two trips to farm store. The come in packets of two. Quality control is gone.?ÿ

this is my after Christmas rant. I did get my frustration out busting ice on ponds with a axe.?ÿ

Starters, alternators and batteries are nothing but crap currently,?ÿ There is no quality assurance these days.?ÿ Just the way it is.

Belts, oil filters, air filters and such are still selling but what you want will arrive whenever it arrives.?ÿ Then you discover they sent you the wrong one because it was in stock, but the one you purchased was not. Who would ever think that sending out the wrong one makes sense?

@holy-cow I am with you. Last oil change i did I went to 3 different parts stores before I found the right one. Fuel pumps are a crap shoot. Went through 4 last year before i got one that worked for more than a few days. I donƒ??t understand. I remember being taught that when you do something or make something make it as good as you can. Do your best. If it fails fix it. Let people know you care about what work or things you do. My 24 year old son has his degree working on a vegetable farm gaining experience applying his education and saying dad i am learning so much. I am working my rump off but everything we plant i go back and re study my books from school on that species of plant. He said why didnƒ??t they teach me this in college. But i said you learned how to learn in college just keep it up. He said we have part time people work a few days here and there then the quit to hard. ?ÿSome with degrees as well say i have a degree I should be in Charge not building green houses or cold shelters picking vegetables and all this labor getting dirty. I said you keep doing what you are doing and learning everything the boss can throw at you. And remember when your knee deep in mud water and cold or hot and it seems like this is it you grit your teeth and open your eyes and ears because you will learn something that will pay off later. ?ÿOf course when he speaks to me he doesnƒ??t say tater or broccoli he is using all the latin and scientific names so he can memorize all of them . I say its a tater or sweet tater lol. But he sees all of this low quality work and no give a hoot attitudes. He also got to see his dad knocked silly today. I have this one cow she always goes down on her front knees in headgate lol every stinking time. Well I grabbed her head turned it so my daughter could get the shot in her without her stabbing her. Well you know exactly what happened her head and my chin. I opened my eyes to her calf and my son and daughter looking downs at me. I said that hurt. Did you finish. Daughter grabs my hat and said dad need 20 more cc in lets try that again. ?ÿI am glad they were here to help. ?ÿThe youngest girls are. With wife up north visiting. My chin still hurts ????

5 or 6 years ago got sent to Willits on a fire. Laughlin Ridge had burned over knocking out the internet. Everything was closed because they canƒ??t operate without the internet. Finally went to Safeway which was open but pretty picked over, found a TV dinner to microwave In hotel room. Damndest thing Iƒ??ve ever encountered.

Then there was a lady who pulled out a calculator to figure change on 9.99 after I handed her a 10 LOL. Iƒ??d heard of this before but didnƒ??t believe it, until then. One of my jobs involved counting change when I was young.

@dave-karoly was it a Hungry-man TV dinner. I remember as a kid the parents were having a spat. So mom went on strike lol. I learned to love hungry man TV dinners because dad brought them home. Boy was i glad when they were gone because mom could cook. Of course it seemed like forever we ate those but was probably a week lol.

@olemanriver?ÿ I can feel your pain with the head butt.?ÿ I've been kicked, stomped, butted, and just plain abused by cattle when I was growing up.?ÿ We had one bull that was just about impossible to control.?ÿ A friend of my father came over and had that ole bull on the ground in about 30 seconds.?ÿ He looped a rope around his neck and made a couple of passes underneath his belly with knots in appropriate places.?ÿ One good tug on that rope and the ole boy just fell over.?ÿ While he held the rope we tipped his horns and gave him his shots.?ÿ Sometimes it's not how hard you work but how smart.

@andy-bruner so true. Yes my brother actually is a cowboy in that sense as he worked on ranches using horses and ropes to do everything with cattle out west. He is a believer that he can cause less stress and get more done vaccines and antibiotics from in the pasture versus running cattle through a chute and headgate ?ÿ Etc. I donƒ??t have that luxury of having a few horses and riders to do that yet maybe one day. I am pretty lucky i have some very gentle cattle. She just got me with that hard head i felt like glass joe lol. I have not seen stars in a while like that. She landed the perfect upper cut to the chin area . ?ÿI donƒ??t think she was trying hard o hurt me she just wanted me to let go of her head and nose. I did get the legs taken out last week. Had my youngest daughter as we walked over to check a new calf laying down. So while she was petting it one if the older calves running and bucking got curious and ran up behind me and made me trip. I was watching the momma cow. Not worried about the calf. I do have to watch my 8 year old has no fear of any of them bull cows nothing. She will get out of truck and walk right through the herd. I tell her donƒ??t do that she is stubborn. She rides horses. But we donƒ??t have one of our own yet. So she straps her 6 shooter on her side cowgirl hat she got from second hand store and rides her stick horse .

@flga-2-2 yes they were the ones that canceled my two oldest kids well not young man and young lady flights. ?ÿGot them a rental car this morning finally headed back home for them. A lady at the airport was getting a rental car also. Flight for her with different airline went up to $3000 i said what she said the other airlines are making money off south west customers that flights were canceled. ?ÿThey have to make up for all that lost revenue during covid lockdowns I reckon. Even rental car was outrageous and not easy to get because of my son is only 24 and daughter 21. So I got lucky so that a nice young lady was sympathetic to us and she gave me a little veterans discount her parents were in service. She said are you driving i said i donƒ??t want to lie but i want all three of us to be able to drive she said you have to be prime driver but you donƒ??t have to be in car you just have to sign here. And i need to add a fee for them and drives licensed.

  1. ... collapsing...not yet.... circling the drain faster? absolutely.....noise floor is so loud now nothing can be heard...free data created an economy of possession for the ones that could see those possibilities.

things were different.

?ÿ

I was at the airport in Denver until 0136 Dec and they cancelledmy first flight. rescheduled to Saturday...lol and no.

?ÿ

?ÿ

hope your kids get home safely. I ended up driving to my destination and back, and will probably this weekend too because I don't trust the flights are working for the process yet.

?ÿ

not a bad rant

@olemanriver I took the FS early in December, and passed.?ÿ Now I'm gearing up for the PS and the state specific too.?ÿ Do you think you'll attend the next exam prep class - I assume they'll do it during the convention again in April.

Yes, I sent you a package of books - but no need to send them back.?ÿ I somehow ended up with a second set, so feel free to pass those on to the next surveyor-to-be, if you know of anyone.

@curiouser i will do pass there along for sure. I have a young crew chief that just has an amazing attitude wants to learn. I have him some gps basic books now reading. He can run equipment picks it up easily but no one at his previous place had the time to really teach him the science behind rtk and gps in general. ?ÿYes i have already set some cash aside for the ps and state specific exam prep course. I already told my new employer before he hired me. I will be going no matter if they paid or not. They said we will pay. ?ÿLast company never did no big deal for me i had invested in me and it worked. I took it in june . ?ÿCongratulations on passing i knew you would. Hope to see you there. ?ÿ Online way i will not be at the prep course is if i kick the bucket or some other crisis arrives. ????. I thought the course was very good at preparing you for the exam itself. ?ÿIf you know the material then that course really gives you an edge on what to expect and how to be prepared. ?ÿThats 90% of the exam is demystifying the gossip and unknowns. ?ÿI thought we were prepared very well. For all of that. I wonder how many others took it from our class. Would be neat to see the statistics on that. Along with those who took it more than once or twice etcc.

Until we stop allowing useless people to hoard huge piles of wealth in exchange for doing nothing except make everyone else poorer it will be ugly.
