To quote you

> Someplace down in the Texas Hill Country sure sounds nice on a day like this...

"Well, that depends"

Maybe in 9 months, there will be some happy new babies on somebodies knee, bouncing, nursing, and being happy!

Make out something good with of your situation.

🙂

It's 43 in Uvalde, and overcast with a stiff north wind.

Not the prettiest of days to visit, but a lot better than the ice storm I woke up to this morning...

and that forecast is much better than the snow here and the temps for the rest of the week. Wednesday it may get up to a whopping 5 degrees if we are lucky...The snow we are getting today isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Here is the text message from Party Chief working in Georgetown, Texas:

Ok its been raining since we arrived, getting colder, snow/freezing rain coming. Totally miserable, I'm calling it a rainout.

The Texas Hill Country is not where you want to go to be warm right now!

It's warmer in parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan than here right now. And I'll bet the wind speed is less as well.

When I left St. Louis my coworkers told me Idaho was miserable cold with several real feet of snow every year. Its been 16 years and I'm still waiting to see that snow...

You are just a day or two ahead of Ohio. Local forecast from National Weather Service:

>Washington's Birthday Snow. High near 12. Wind chill values as low as -4. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

>Tonight A chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 4. Wind chill values as low as -4. East wind around 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

>Tuesday A slight chance of snow showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 20. Wind chill values as low as -5. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

That 20° temp on Tuesday is the high through Friday. Local TV forecasters say we are setting record lows for this late in February.

I Love Winter

Despite that I no longer ski, I can take all other outdoor winter activities as fun.

Just resolve that a full days winter's work is complicated by the work to stay warm and you cannot change it.
