starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. I never get tired of watching Fred Astaire in any movie, he was an incredible dancer.
I admire your refined taste in literature. I usually watch South Park reruns...
Duck Dynasty here! It's got it all. Class. Fun, Fishing, Hunting, Boating, Shooting, Drama, people calling people idiots. What more d' ya need in a TV show?
But, If I watch one every 6 months, that's alot!
N
Bing and Fred sure we're funny looking dudes.
Bing Crosby invented the idea of being a solo singing star, it was unheard of before him.
I got to thinking about Holiday Inn (1942). Did a little you tubing and found this.

Bevis and Butthead, and Captin Kangaroo are my mental stimuli's
Bevis and Butthead along with Captain Kangaroo and "Paint your wagon" seem to have a calming effect on me for whatever reason,
We enjoyed Guess Who's Coming to Dinner last night on the big screen at the local historic Artcraft Theater. It was bittersweet to watch knowing that Tracy died 17 days after they finished filming.

Thread hijack.
A few years ago I was surveying a lakefront lot here. The owners were the heirs of a furniture manufacturer. Apparently he had bought this lot in several small tracts and at one time had a partner in this lot. However, when the partnership ended, one of the small tracts didn't get transferred, so the partner still owned 0.1 acres or so. I was mentioning it to the boss and told him the partner was this Kimmons Wilson fellow, otherwise known as the founder of the Holiday Inn.

Had not given any thought to which came first, the movie or the motel chain?
HC, - Don Blameuser (the recluse) recommended this book several months ago:
"Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde"
It gives quite an insight with respect to what traveling was like prior to Motels.
B-)

Bessie Smith in the 20's had her own railroad car, sold millions of records with her big hits and toured as a solo performer.
