Had a great and memorable beerleg meet up with Christof and his wife Patsy and daughter Helene in Ghent, Belgium. It's about one of the most photogenic European towns I have ever visited. Unfortunately a lack of tripod and optimum lighting left me with some rough photos but here's a few to get an idea of the old town area....iPad for some ridiculous reason won't upload to beerleg so I FTP and post a link, .... Missing my laptop...lost my phone to seawater in Seychelles and laptop to wine... Albeit temporarily I hope...I'll get the blog out in a week or so... Been a fantastic trip... Home in a few days now...

No need to apologize for the photography. Great photos. Christof and family are wonderful hosts. I look forward to your pictures in a week or so. Hopefully with some captioning.
I helped Christof with a project near Ghent.

Very Cool! Looks very Middle Ages like. The cobblestone in Europe in general always amazed me and always seems to be maintained well. That would never happen here. What castle is that?
I visited Brussels during my Army days, but not Ghent unfortunately. Looks like I missed out.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

You and Mary are obviously having a great time!
Take care and have a safe trip home.
"lost my phone to seawater in Seychelles"
Well, heck man, it could have been worse if you had lost Mary to seawater.
Great photos as usual.
Very nice. Looks like Christof is aging nicely. 😉
Daryl, you need to stay away from the seawater and the wine! Great pics as always.
Safe travels,
Doug

6.15 a.m. in Belgium ... but had to check the site before leaving for some surveying near Brussels.
Daryl keeps his promise and posted already here.
The pictures look even better than the real thing!
It was a memorable evening for us three too, enjoyed the chat and the company.
Have a save trip home and enjoy the Netherlands!
Thanks for taking time visiting Belgium
and thanks also to Wendell and Angel for bringing us all together!
Christof.
