I was reading this piece in the Washington Post where I heard for the first time the name of Frank Stanford. Made me think Nate might have heard of him. In any case I'd like to seek out some of his poetry. Was just curious if anyone here and heard of him and knew any more about this person. He was apparently unlicensed and committed suicide at the age of 30 according to Wikipedia.

I suppose this piece struck a chord with me. Maybe someone else here will find it an interesting read and if not, that's just alright.?ÿ

Cheers. Willy

Contemporary of Lucinda Williams whose father Miller was the head of creative writing program at Univ. of Arkansas and also post laureate of the USA at one time.?ÿ

Here's a song she wrote about his death. This was her best band.

Enjoy. Maybe the link will work

he has a poem titled "lament of the land surveyor."

been on a fruitless search to find a copy of it for a couple years now.

his stuff is generally hard to find, but i've only ever heard mention of that one, never actually read even a word of it.

lived in eureka springs- that's one of those places that makes you wonder what planet you're actually on when you're there.

@ Alan Roberts

There is a 98% probability that Kent was in attendance.

gotta check my archives if they were not wiped on a copy of "lament of the land surveyor"
