This past week I was working on a project in Potomac, MD. This is about two hours away from where we do the bulk of our work in York County, PA.
It looks like A LOT more money flows in Potomac than in York County. Monday I saw a few Teslas, lots of Land Rovers and Jaguars, a Ferrari and a Bentley. Tuesday there were a few more Teslas, Jaguars and a Maserati. Wednesday just walking back to the truck from the last shot I saw three Teslas and a Bentley. The number of BMWs was similar to the number of Honda Civics I see on a normal day close to home.
Those Teslas are quiet. You need to watch your back, they'll sneak up on you quick! That sure is different from working near York during the Street Rod Nationals, there aren't any sneaking vehicles on that weekend!
I'll be heading back there tomorrow for one last day. Looking forward to seeing what I can spot...
I wouldn't have one of those if they gave it to me! (that's what all the poor people say)

Yea, they are just hoping someone wants to prove them wrong
I just spent two of the the last three days at the track. Ferrari's, Porsche's and such doing what they are designed to do. Such great fun and tension release. No Tesla's or Land Rover's though, LOL. The Ridge Motorsports track is on the outskirts of a small town in SW Washington and I often wonder what the locals think as they are besieged by cars from Bellevue (our expensive car land)
One thing I noticed about the lamborghinis, ferraris, and mazeratis...... They are all driven by young to middle age single men.
I would much rather take my pickup filled with friends and mountain bikes over being all alone in a shiny new Italian sports car any day of the week.

I couldn't afford the taxes and insurance on one of those if you gave it to me...

That, and I'd be worried to death about scratches, dents and dings on a car that expensive. Needless to say, I don't have to worry about that with any of my current vehicles!
I don't think the guys at the track are as worried about the little scratches. My favorite session of the weekend placed me right behind a Ferrari 458 and I stayed right on him as we moved past the rest of the field. He was going for it trying to get space and I was equally trying not to give him any, great fun. The sound from 20 to 50 feet in front of me was absolutely glorious
I run an Ariel so my track cost, while not insignificant, are greatly reduced over the other cars mentioned. I have heard from the Ferrari guys that they will drop a set of tires and a set of brakes every track weekend. If you are talking ceramic brakes, ... ouch! I cannot imagine dropping over 10K for a weekend. I have the track fee, a set of tires for the season and a set of brakes for longer than a season. Light weight pays off! (Car not driver)

You are a lucky Man. I'd LOVE to have a play in one of those - they're high on my list of desirable toys...
Duck over to Dubai with a container and pick one up.
