My sister-in-law has a need for a survey in the deep dark woods of Corinth. She's having a little trouble finding someone. Looking to divide off 15 acres from an 80 - 90 acre (very plus or minus, here) property that is described as multiple parcels within 3 deeds. The descriptions are of the more cryptic variety, i.e. "... thence easterly by land of Edwin ..."
Can I get some recommendations for individuals or companies of good repute to refer her to?
Unfortunately TED DURA DURA is no longer with us. As I recall, he spent years in the New England surveying world before landing in Colorado. He would be able to divine every boundary without question, set up the gun in under five seconds every time and produce a glowing survey plat with a very sharp NORTH arrow.
And with no water also. He knew how to do it.
Ingraham Land Consulting in Rockport. They did a survey of some land I own and they did a decent job of it. My lot was only 4 acres but it was part of a court case that their work prevailed on. It was done for a prior owner so I don't have any direct ties to their efforts. Looks like a long drive from Rockport to Corinth. Check with Jim Bosworth at MTS on some other options.
I'm looking for "good repute". 😏
Ted was definitely a legend in his own mind. Also, only registered in NH, not Maine. I worked a couple places that Ted had blown through a couple years before me. I've resisted the urge to share the stories that I heard, as that would only be gossip and hearsay. Ted actually confirmed a few of the stories himself in his self-aggrandizing posts. Kicking the leg out from a tripod set up is one of them. Apparently, it was quite the habit with him.
Thanks for the suggestion to ask Jim at MTS.
Ted was definitely a legend in his own mind.
Yes, his legendary email to me when he got banned from here contained more profanity and innuendo than in any email I'd ever received before. Ted's ban went from one week to perpetual.
And yet, everyone that met him said he was the nicest guy in person. It was his online persona that was over the top.
RIP
