My Brother 6490 cw was accidently unplugged and no won't go online or do anything?
It just blinks "BROTHER".....
AY IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
I unlpugged and loaded new software, nothing is working.
Thank you
Could be that when you plugged it in, it logged onto your system with a different IP address. I had to change the port IP addresses yesterday on one of my PC's to make it reconnect.
Here's a link to the Network Guide.

Thanks JB
My printer is just frozen, keeps blinking "brother".
I can't change anything at this point.
It worked fine last night and this morning. I unplugged it and heard that Windows 7 chime when something is unplugged and plugged it back in and its doing this.
Its showing that its offline, but I can't turn it online?
The printer just can't be found.
Tech support not open today.

Just a shot in the dark here...
...this is not for the same model, but maybe it will help?
- Machine off
- Switch on the machine while holding down the “menu”button until all the leds are flashing on/off. Now you are in “maintenance” mode.
- press 80
- press the “mono start” button several times until you see “purge: xxxx”
- press “2783” in order to reset the purge counter. You will see: “purge:0000”
- press the "stop" button.
- press “99” to exit the maintenance mode.
Can't seem to find anything on internet search that doesn't deal with a specific error message (which you don't seem to be getting). You could try this one... Gently massage each key
If it were me, the "gentle massage" would likely end with a full on fist to the keyboard after hearing that incessant "triple beep." That's got to be the most annoying sound ever produced by a mechanical device.
Good luck.

Thanks will have to wait until tech support wakes up.
No errors, just blinking "BROTHER", machine won't respond to anything.
If you have access to a vacuum cleaner, clean the faceplate and check that no dust or dirt has a key partially depressed. I had the same issue with a Canon printer and that is what it turned out to be, after hours of diagnosis looking for a software problem. It did the same thing, due to the partially depressed key it set up a loop in the bios (or it was just those damn gremlins).
Dang Gremlins
I stared at the photo for a long time, but didn't see a Gremlin. I think there might be something red on the far side of the charming young ladies, though.
I do not think that those ladies are 'young' anymore?
