What an annoying concept! Sometimes I'd like to find the engineer who came up with the idea and wring his neck. And, do you really need to lock the doors every time you get out to pump gas?

With my Nissan truck and my wife's Jeep, you can turn that feature off. Look in the owners manual.

I'm glad that mine flashes the turn signals and makes a short beep after I hit my key fob from inside the house if I forget if I locked it or not when I got out while carrying stuff in after work. It makes it really nice to not have to put on boots in the winter or shorts in the summer...

flash-flash-*beep*

:-$ I must admit, my stratus does that, although I set it up like that. I do like the feature, I have it set to flash the headlights twice for unlock and flash lights once and honk horn to lock. It gives me that reassurance that I hit the right button. I do not however lock my car when I pump gas, only when I'll be away for longer than I trust the shady looking cat watching me not lock my car. :-/

I like to hit it about 5 or 6 times when in public...but only when my wife is with me. She's always embarrassed and I think it gets funnier every time. Haha.

It's particularly annoying when at a camping area or motel when people repeatedly lock and unlock their doors. DO you really need to lock your doors when your tent is 10 feet from your car?

I don't like it either. I turned it off on our van. I think the sequence was something like turn the ignition on and off four times in a hurry, stick out your tongue, push the door unlock button twice, blink your right eye, and step on the brake. Or maybe that was the other car. They're all different.

What really annoys me is the car that sets off the alarm if the doors were locked by the fob or the door button, and then I unlock it with the key. I don't like to carry the huge fob. I've got the *@#$! key. Let me in quietly!

I like the flashing lights to unlock. Pretty handy way to find your car in a huge parking lot at night after some event.

I can tell you've never been to Florida. And the answer is "Yes. Yes you do"

I lock my doors, out of habit, no matter what, no matter where. Especially with the bosses survey equipment in there.

Robbery (and worse) are everyday occurrences down here. Why be a target?

My Dodge Ram does that, but I rarely lock my doors. What has really driven me nuts for the past ten years I have been working out of it is that the doors lock at 15mph. Every time I go up to the passenger side to get the Robot out, the door is locked on that side and the keys are in the ignition! I spend a lot of time walking around my truck. 😀

maybe I'll hit the lock button, then just reach in and hit the horn really hard so everyone knows that my truck is now Locked!!!

Getting out with keys in ignition - never. Even though I often leave the vehicle unlocked the keys are glued to my fingers as soon as I shut the ignition off.

My sister-in-law has a car that locks all the doors occasionally when one is slammed. She's finally learned to take the key with her.

Pretty sure that can be turned off on the Dodge's, mine does the same, I am so used to it now, I out of habit (most of the time) unlock the doors when exiting.

Out here you don't have that problem; no one locks their car doors, they can't because their keys are still in the car.

I hate it too. I don't use the fob, and just use the switch - but I hear it from others' cars. It's stupid.

Yeah, I was always the leave the key in the ignition type, and don't lock my house - till it bit me in the ass once. I still don't like it - but dislike it less than having my stuff gone.

I'm just kidding.

Those days are long gone.

But it's nothing like my brother in DC. His car was stolen three times and the last time driven into the river (no he didn't leave his keys in it). Now he has a parking spot that his new car is parked at in a protected garage at work. So he has to walk home and back to work to get his car.

Same Here

We go away on vacation for a month and leave the other two vehicles in the yard with the keys in them. Course no one would steal my beaters anyway.
