> sounds like a black bear. They love climbing beech trees for the beechnuts.
Every Surveyor has a bear story (2:12).

Wow! That was cool. The scariest story I can think of lately has to do with, either my cooking or leftovers, and feeling like i've been punched in the gut for the last three days.

There was that one time, back in '83..'84..?, a group of us neighborhood punks were sitting outside drinking beer in a friend's driveway, late one night. On a cold clear night about midnight i watched a pair of lights high up in the sky moving at very high rate of speed, when they both got to a certain point they jumped apart from one another a considerable distance, and then closed together just as fast, making a diamond pattern, at some phenomenal rate of speed, which i've never seen aircraft travel.

I'd never seen anything like that, and when i mentioned it out loud, another friend, who i didn't know was watching it, and was equally impressed, did the quick flight pattern with his fingers overhead.

That's my scariest, close encounters story.

My parents said that they were not scared at all. They both knew right away what it was, almost sounded like it was comforting.

If anyone else had told me that story...I'd call BS. Having them both witness it at the same time is unique to most stories like this.

I'd say yeah, it helps to have someone else witness it. I would have just chalked it up to being buzzed but, I didn't get to say much more than; "Man! you won't believe..."
, when my friend jumped in and finished the story, confirming what i had just seen.

The tree was only about 6-8' tall, maybe 4" diameter at most, so it wasn't in the tree. Whatever it was seemed to be interested in me, that's why I thought it was my rodman.
Maybe I need to get one of those GoPro cameras mounted to a helmet and wear it everywhere.

Speaking of weird sightings.............remember the Alec Baldwin commercial for Capitol One with the old timey guys where he is being introduced to someone he assumes is the introducer's father and is told it is the introducer's mother instead.

Well, we were at a high school graduation when Mrs. Cow told me to casually look over my right shoulder to the row behind us and two seats to my right. It was the mother.............I swear it had to be her.............nobody else in the world could look like that.

I too saw your run-of-the mill UFO when I was a young'un. And I also now wonder, now many years later, if I imagined my sighting. But I know I didn't. Oval, saucer shaped, windows or portals around the perimeter, "fire?" coming out of the back. Flew right over my head. Sounds crazy I know.

I worked on a survey for an Alaskan homesteader who swears he has seen Bigfoot creatures many times. I never have, but I do wear a size 15 shoe!

When a bell rings on earth, it means an angel just got his (or her) wings in heaven.

No sighting, but -

A friend and I used to go hiking in an area called Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky.

On one very cold winter time hike, we were walking along a section of the lake that had many sharp rocks and some muddy areas. We saw footprints that appeared to be made by bare feet in the muddy sections. The path of the prints was such that they had to have gone into the rocky area. They were big enough that my size 13 boot fit completely inside the print. They were spaced such that I could not jump the distance between the prints.

Was it a Bigfoot? I don't know because I did not see who made the prints. It could very well have been an extremely tall person who was walking barefoot in the winter along a lake through sharp rocks. The water could have flowed in and caused the print size to be exaggerated in size. The ?person? may have been running and had a very long stride.

I do know it seemed strange to me.
