Okay, I have discovered something bad about this forum.
For the past five years I have been posting on Beerleg, without too much deep thought. And without regard to Likes or Trophies or any of the metrics which are covered on the Statistics and Members pages.
But now, this is all going to change. Today while posting a post about 'blowing up whales with dynamite', which of course I happen to have some personal experience with, I realized that I have a LPPR (Likes/Posts Ratio) that is higher than 1.00! I am sure that there are other members with a higher LPPR, and there are members who have 10X the likes but lots more posts. Here are some examples:
Mark Silver 1.014
Paden Cash 0.618
Shawn Billings 0.325
Loyal 0.289
Nate The SÛ? 0.287
Gschrock 0.268
Wendell 0.259
Brad Ott 0.255
Jim Frame 0.244
Holy Cow 0.233
Bill93 0.207
Robert Hill 0.181
Kent McMillan 0.115
So this message is to inform you that I can no longer make off the cuff posts that will not garner additional likes. My LPPR is too close to 1 to risk posting anything that will not garner at least one like. Even this post is a risk.
I am working on a new member profile that I can use for those types of mundane posts that nobody would ever like. You may be able to figure out who I am posting as, and I wanted to let Wendell know that I will be violating the terms of service a bit with two accounts: Wendell, please forgive. I just wanted to keep you apprised of my new posting goal and my inability to speak freely under my real account name as my LPPR might be affected.
BTW, I think that my response to blowing up whales hits all the buttons:
Dynamite
Dead Animals
Hint of sex
Beer
Catastrophe
Life Lessons Learned
Redemption
Summer

You forgot about:
the perfect country and western song because he hadn't said
anything at all about momma, or trains, or trucks,
or prison or gettin' drunk.

Since you are a 6 year member a fair portion of your posts were made before "likes" were a thing on this board. Your LPPR for posts in the last couple of years is likely well over 1.
Holy Cow is all angry, and jealous. He wanted to have more likes.
(Snort!)
🙂
HC has a large number of likes, but they are diluted by a large number of posts, more than 3 times my count.
Did you ever witness a critter with scours break wind...............the hard way? "LIKE" is not the appropriate term.:scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream:
This is HIlarious.
I am not MARK SILVER.
I have not hacked into Brad Ott's account.
Sleep well beer leggers.
James Fleming has a well deserved .388
Too bad that there isn't a way to tabulate the posters who give the most likes. I try to very open and liberal in my likes to posters.

I wonder if there is one post, that has received the most likes?
What statistics page? I don't see numbers by my posts like by ya'lls posts, so I'm just gonna assume I talk a bunch, and ya'll must nor mind to much, cause I haven't been told to shut up in such a way I paid attention to it.

Has to be Brad.
[SARCASM]Nate has pretty high numbers 'cause every other day he announces another kid and everyone is all congratulatory and stuff....[/SARCASM] 😉

Personally I think all this "like business" should be left to Facebook. 😎
A dislike button would be useful sometimes. (Not for this thread/posts though)

There is. Check out the "statistics" page. A post by Paden, the one that kicked off that 777 post "Handling inaccuracy and the positions of existing monuments" thread, got 31 likes.
I've seen my share of critters, with bowell trouble. Bovine feces launches. Usually the fluid variety.
Dogs with parvo. I've cured a few dogs with parvo. Adam's no-mo tapeworm pills, creates an intestinal bomb, that blows parvo out the rear orifice, with great intensity.
Cats with a cold, launching in 2 directions at once. (where's Trimble Man?)
But, back on topic, and leaving likes for facebook, well, i have this to say:
Surveyors are notoriously struggling against mis-information.
The whole spectrum of it, which ranges from exploding bovine excrement, to clients who move corners.
Any surveying tool, that helps overcome this pervading material, is gonna get liked by me.
It seems that we could all use all the help we can get, against this stuff.
Mark Silver is promoting and selling, and supporting some sort of Chinese Trimble gps gear. With Trimble boards. I am hearing good reports from the users of it.
It seems that it has a high "bang for the buck" ratio.
I think I have it lined up to go and perform a side by side USER comparison, with my Javad. I suspect that it will score well, in this comparison, but, ANYBODY promoting a better mousetrap, is going to get the attention of a surveyor.
While were on this subject, I am dreaming of a special land surveyors hammer.
It's about 1-3/4" dia. It has an unbreakable welded handle on it. The head is about 4" long. It's been drilled out from one end, and then welded up solid, with a cavity left. Then a small hole drilled in it, to add lead powder, or shot. The drilled out end, has a tang welded to it, to make it into a a pick.
We now have a 3 to 4 lb dead blow, steel, rugged sledge hammer, with a digging tang or pick on the back. The handle is rubber wrapped. And, tough.
Say, mark, see if you can get a couple hundred for us, would ya? Maybe 100 to 150 each. And, in 2 or 3 sizes.
I'd LIKE that.

Mark, having known you for several years both in a professional capacity and a personal one, I can say you are the most likeable person here. I think your likeability quotient, anonymous or otherwise, will remain very high.
I don't know Mark, but I've sure heard of him for years. 😎
