I don't really know why, but this video reminds me of the time I set slope stakes for the Seven Oaks Dam in Highland, CA. Except it wasn't quite as treacherous. 😉

That dude in the "space suit" has to be from Florida, after all we hold the "Holy Grail" of all crazies 😉

Have a great week and say hey to Angel, Miranda, and all the "critters". (even the "rats"):-)

I have been trying to volunteer to do this for years. The day I stuck my wooden walking stick into molten lava I was hooked! Seriously, I have never been the same since - it was the most life-altering experience I have ever, or will ever have. I understand exactly what these extremely lucky guys do this for...

The guy in the hot suit is a tree climber by the name of "Drew" who posts on a tree climbers board called TreeBuzz.

He posts a longer video of this expedition here:

http://www.treebuzz.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB2&Number=252353&Searchpage=1&Main=252353&Words=volcano&topic=&Search=true#Post252353

Notice how they anchor the line, and how the photographer follows sans hot suit.

The RIP on his helmut is in memory of another climber who was killed in an accident while doing a takedown of a tree.

edit: here is the youtube video he linked on the TreeBuzz site.
