I really hate to see the other board going down, down, down. No advertising banners run along the top or bottom any longer. I never like them too much, but their recent absence must be sending a bad message.
I think this board can replace it over time, especially if the posters keep infighting over there.

Actually, I agree. I can only hope for their sake that it is a glitch or some other reasonable explanation that is temporary.
There is one specific poster over there, however, who seems to have a chip on his shoulder. He seems a bit too uptight and stressed out about the existence of "SpongePlumbBobToo". 😀 Oh well, none of my business, really.

If I were a betting man, which I am, I would speculate that the magazine has very little invested, and that the entire failure was fully funded by a select few members from near and afar.
Personally I think I would have invested with a Nigerian before I invested with an Australian, but thats just me.

I am one of those positive optimist type of people though that wants everyone to get along, somehow, or at least agree to disagree without bashing each others heads in. 😐
They still have advertisers. Since the "upgrade" now they have 20x the pages to put ads on. I posted the same Football Pickem message over there, what a pain in the a$$.
The other board seems to have more survey content. This board has been getting a lot of posts lately, but most of them have been more socially-oriented. I've seen a lot more "serious" topics on the other board lately.
My vote is for this to be a kinder, gentler board than we have experienced in the past.
To tell you the truth, I thought everyone was a bunch of whiners when the format of the old board was changed. I have been too busy to check either board very much, but when I do, I hardly ever look at the other board and am somehow drawn to this one. I guess the simple format is better when it comes down to it.

I've stumbled on the references several times when visiting there. I tried searching their forums for the keywords in question, but zero results. Epic fail for the search engine. You can usually find them in Board Admin Issues, or something like that.
