Remember my daughter who rescued a dying dog when she was last on Curacao on vacation (the dog did recover and was later adopted). Here is the latest from Cathy, and she certainly is her dad's daughter:

So, my latest efforts to save animals, I ended up with an injured butterfly. P found him . His wings were bent so he couldn't fly. Then I put him outside for some fresh air and the stupid cat got him. So, now he's missing more of his wings. So, he lives in an aquarium with branches and milk weed leaves. He's so cute. I take him out
every day and feed him home made nectar on a flower or a sponge. He loves to feed out of the end of the syringe. He looks forward and knows when he's going to get fed. probably won't last much longer, but considering his options. Oh, the things I do.

OMG!

Where do you draw the line? A grasshopper missing a leg or two? A cricket with a similar problem (hard to chirp without your legs)? Six little naked birdies who fell out of the nest yesterday? A seven-legged spider? A yellow-bellied sapsucker missing his sapsucker?

LOL

We had squirrels (both gray and flying), a raccoon, various and assorted cats and an alligator. Oh and multiple snakes that I brought home and turned loose in the barns to help control the mice and rats.

Growing up in Kodiak, we had to use the neighbor's shower for a couple of weeks, as Mom had found a baby seal that was injured, so he lived in our bathtub for the duration of his recovery!
Had a fawn, fox kit, and about every stray dog and cat that strolled in!

My youngest (son, age 10) has a passion for every animal and bug. He deer hunts with me and talks smart, but I REALLY hope deer never go past the stand when he's along. My aiming might suddenly be off, if you know what I mean 😉
