Link works for me, will watch later.
Edit. Just watched it. He says he hasn't used soap for 50 years..... not at all sure what to think about that!
Worked for me. Watched it. Absolutely amazing video of him dancing on his 103rd birthday nearly a year ago. Must be a true surveyor. Said he stopped using soap 30 years ago.
:gammon: Just about 60 more years of "work" left for me then. Hell, I am just getting started.
Skin is the biggest organ on a person's body.
I'm sure he still washed ... just not with that poisonous, slimy soap ...

I have known Lloyd Baker for more than a decade. He is still surveying with GG24's (probably purchased 20 years ago now.) He attends the Wyoming Engineering Conference every year, drives across I-80 by himself in blinding snow storms to attend.
I know that it is not probable, however I would not be that surprised if he outlived me. As far as I can tell he is in perfect health. No glasses, infinite strength and endurance. I know that he attributes much of his good health to being a Vegetarian and drinking smoothies made with (god only knows what) natural ingredients.
Here are some more web links to pictures, stories and movies of Lloyd:

This movie of him singing a few years ago at the chuckwagon is priceless:
Lloyd is a real piece of America and if you are near Jackson, I know he would always welcome anyone in the business to stop in and say howdy. It is worth the time to stop and meet him.
May we all follow in Lloyd's footsteps!

It's nice to see an obviously good man living life like that.
You HAVE to respect people that have experienced so much life.
I would love to talk with Loyd about many things.

One summer my dad took me up to meet a friend of his. He lived in a pretty remote area, and as we made our way up the dirt road, we passed an old man swinging a pick, working at cleaning a culvert inlet. I stared for a second, but didn't think much of it as we drove by, other than how hot it was outside to be working like that.
We got to the house and a man in his 80's came out and met us in the driveway. We visited for awhile and listened to him tell stories about his past gold mining experiences. The old man that had been cleaning the culvert came hiking up the driveway with a shovel over his shoulder. He wanted to know if his boy was spinning tales. It was the weirdest thing to hear this old man call another old man his boy!
They had lived together and worked as gold miners for many years.
His dad was 98 going on 99. He was also a fit, hard working man. We didn't stay long. I now regret that I did not get to stay longer and pick his brain.
I believe he passed away before he turned 100.

Wow, between him and Paul Scherbel they sure have some experienced surveyors in that corner of Wyoming.
