You start cutting line a little lower than waist high you won't wear yourself out walking it. :-O 😀
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha.......
They call it restless leg syndrome, arthritis and HBP.
I think it was all the dancing with mademoiselles along LA 1.
I have been wearing these lately, they are not as thick as traditional loggers shirts but I kind of doubt it would be light enough for FL.

I thought all surveyors shopped at Goodwill. When you get hung up in the thorns and barbed wire you don't worry nearly so much about the RRRRIIIIPPPP!!!!
Helper today went home with about a 10 inch tear in his jeans between the knee and belt line. Fortunately, it was all cloth and no skin. I was doing great until I went to hop in the chariot. That's when I discovered a 3 inch locust thorn had attached itself to my pants in an area that makes significant contact with the driver's seat with the help of gravity. The good news was that there was just a little prick and not a significant penetration.
The best survey work pants that I have found are the http://www.carhartt.com/products/Washed-Twill-Dungaree---Relaxed-Fit-B324&apos ;">Carhartt Washed Twill Dungaree - Relaxed Fit Pants (B324). They work well in hotter climates because they are lighter weight than standard canvass pants. I also have to have a hammer loop. I prefer them in Army Green. As Mr. Bennett alluded to, light pants don't work well when get into the swamp.
As far as shirts go, I am currently wearing the http://www.carhartt.com/products/Workwear-Pocket-T-Shirt-K87&apos ;">Carhartt Workwear Pocket T-Shirt (K87). They are 100% cotton and are comfortable in hot weather. I prefer them in dessert tan color.
Both are also very affordable.
I wear tactical pants with so-called Station T-shirts (long sleeved). Station T-shirt is a fire department term.
I've been wearing these pants:

But I haven't been as happy with the last order, rise is too low, zippers don't stay up and they run small. I'm going to try something different next time. They hold up better than blue jeans and are way more comfortable. I like that my wallet goes in one side picket so I don't have to sit on it, smart phone in the other side pocket and hotel keys in pocket behind flapped wallet pocket.
Got a couple of Deluth tshirts. Feel nice. See how they do in the field.

You sure that isn't just holiday creep?
Lol
Ok, just an update. I bought a Duluth FOM short sleeve and also bought one of what Duluth calls their "BBQ shirts". The FOM is all it's advertised to be. The fit is great, very roomy and freedom of movement. It stayed tucked in all day, which with me is an absolute miracle. The down side is it does appear to be a heavy cotton. I don't know how it's going to do in the FL heat come August, lol. The BBQ shirt is very lightweight, breathable and is also pretty roomy, but it's shorter in length than the FOM, so it didn't want to stay tucked in as well throughout the day. Anyhow, they both seem of good quality and if the FOM isn't too terribly hot, I may go that route for shirts.

While I appreciate the need to look respectable & tidy, I'm very very picky about the functionality of the clothing I wear.
Being forced into sub-optimal clothing just because it carries a company logo is not what I want from an employer.
Yes. I enjoy the opinions and stories of many on this forum, but for many reasons, I don't think I would enjoy working for the majority of you. Eh, maybe I'm just sour from having to wear an uncomfortably hot polo with company logo while climbing mountains when I started. The bears were really impressed with our professional look...just trust that I'll do good work and carry myself in a professional manner and leave it there.
I just let my field crews wear whatever they feel comfortable in. They all wear vests and we are on construction sites all day so the "professional image" business goes out the window.
The office personnel wear t-shirts and shorts and every once in a while they will actually wear shoes (aka: flip flops) but that is only on "formal" occasions, read none. We rarely have any clients, other than job superintendents, visit our office so I don't care about any dress code. I figure the more comfortable my office employees are the more work they will do and make me rich!!!;-)

I agree, on the uniforms should be comfortable and useful, I'm not going to force my guys to wear something I wouldn't wear, and I'm picky as hell when it comes to my field clothing.
I don't know, but I don't think of me wearing anything "light" colored for a pant is going to do good. I've had jeans so messed up at the end of the day from working that the wife has to wash them 2 or 3 times to get them to look like jeans again. I can't imagine what that light colored pant would look like.
I dig the hat though...
100% cotton is the way to go. Anything with polyester in it allows BO to grow. So polyester anything combined with working up a sweat is bad news. I didn't figure this out soon enough. Once I did all the stuff with any polyester was dumped.

Yes, I don't know how anyone can be comfortable in those "fishing shirts" or any of the wicking or dry fit stuff. Feels like I'm wearing a plastic bag.
Anyone use those Henley shirts? I found some by Carhartt that looked like they would be very comfortable and still professional looking. Didn't know how they would do in hot weather.

I know I'm splitting hairs a bit here, but I just don't want a t-shirt. I'd like to have something w/some semblance of a collar...

I might make a change, too.
