Started with a dos program that was written by a local programmer, it morphed into an excel based program that merged all the old information, accounts, jobs, from back to 1982 into the new program.
Each day everyone imputs their time into it, the jobs are billed through it, information sent to the accountant, payroll, taxes, job costing, chargeability, ect,
Invoices are generated, printed, and a mailing envelope or email all done using it.
But it was pricy to create and maintain:(
Started with Excel, created program with FoxPro which was great but bogged down with all the crew personnel combination possibilities as the company grew. Went with Wind2 which worked okay but cost a lot and required special training to operate. Tried Timeslips (ouch) and have used BillQuick with Peachtree for the last 8-9 years. We keep the accounting and the billing separate although they claim we can link the two programs together if we want.
