I had the Jehovah's Witless come knocking early one morning.

Saw them coming, so has a moment to set-up...

Invited them in with "Oh I 've been wnting to talk to you guys" spiel

Their faces almost split with grinning

Then its "hang on a moment, I'll just go and get my wife. Darling.."

And my flatemate (roommate?) Jim comes down the hall - all bearded 6'4" of him, wrapped just in a towel. "Yes dear"

Man did those JW's take off quickly 🙂

A few years ago my wife's friend, tired of her college calling to ask for donations, told them that she had passed away. A week later her parents got a call from the college wanting to know if they would like to make a donation in their daughter's memory.

Excellent advice Bruce.

Off topic but I get a lot of junk mail and they often come with prepaid reply envelopes.

I take company A's junk mail and put it in company B's reply envelope. USPS get's paid and I don't have to send more stuff to our landfill.

Win-win.

I tear up the contents of the original envelope, including that envelope and put everything in the postage paid envelope and drop it in the mail. Often that is the last piece of mail I get from a particular company.B-)

I hear some people who happen to have composite shingle scraps cut them to fit in the envelope and mail it to them 🙂

How about a flattened bit of lead billet to weigh just over a pound to put in the pre-paid reply envelopes? Sheet metal scraps might work. Or fill a BIG box with garbage and tape the prepaid envelope to the top.

I always at least stuff them with junk, after excising any info or codes that might identify me. Try for more than 3 ounces at least.

Has taken several years but I now get less than one or two per week. Used to be several per day average.

I haven't done it in a few years, so not sure if this still works... but
I have took postage paid envelopes, created a mailing label for my use, and placed it over their address, but not covering the bar code.... free postage paid envelope! 😉

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you...
