Third person billing companies

Arrrgh!?ÿ Is there an appropriate new term to describe what we normally refer to as paperwork that does no longer involves paper for the most part??ÿ I am not familiar with the terms MSA and VA for billing.?ÿ We get a handful of W-9 requests each year, usually about mid-January.?ÿ Rarely ahead of receiving payment for an invoice.

Off topic but relevant

When I was in business we would occasionally receive an "audit" request of billing amounts for a particular client for the YTD. When working with large corporations this is not an unusual request and comes from corporate. The first time I received one I really didn't know which specific info they were requesting so I called my client and was referred to accounting. I found out this was an illegal phishing maneuver currently in use by internet thieves in hopes of gaining access to corporate websites. (How, I do not know)

In any event always verify any requests for information about anything to do with a client. ?????ÿ

No payment - no W-9

You issue a W-9 prior to payment receipt, you may as well kiss the money goodbye and move it to the appropriate accounting category. ?????ÿ

A W-9 is nothing more than your address and taxpayer identification number. They are routinely requested and given. There is no peril involved.

MSA-Master Services Agreement,,,,,,,,,,,,,VA- Vendor Application (actually it's Vendor Form, but I want to say VA).?ÿ

I ended up doing both for another company, the Vendor Application covered exactly nothing that the MSA didn't.?ÿ
