We did all of the photo control for border mapping along that section of the border (from the Gulf coast to Big Bend area). I see from the top of the first page that it is not all for a wall, they also mention a new port of entry at Los Ebanos. That particular crossing was very interesting, here is a photo I took of the actual crossing in 2008 when I was there:

I think if I lived that close to the border I would actually want a wall for safety. I talked to a lot of people when I was down there, and some of the ranchers were scared of all the illegal activity, not really of the common border crossers looking for work but of the drug traffickers. And that was in 2008, I think it got a lot worse after that. And I did see some areas with a wall already built, other areas U/C, and that was 9 years ago.
