Are rooftop easements for a cable up the side of a building, through the parapet wall, across the roof and to a traffic camera any different than easements on the ground?
I saw one recently and it was the first one I've ever seen in57+ years of surveying.?ÿ I seem to remember it was different than usual, but I can't remember why.

1st time I have heard of a cable easement. It's required by code? Seems like a waste of time and bureaucratic resources. So does it mean that you have to update the easement if in the future the camera upgraded to wireless connection? I mean how many cameras are we talking about? Each intersection has one? So you need to update all those easements?
I have done some rooftop easement plans for a client that are for solar panel installations. Legally, I couldn't see any difference from one on the ground. I just made it clear that the building itself was the monument to the easement boundaries. I did not see a need to survey the parcel boundaries of the lots upon which the buildings sat. I included a note on the plans to that effect.
i would say yes - it would be three-dimensional...
@jt50 To answer your question as it pertains to my solar panel easements - yes. The panel installers largely ignored my easement plan, and put them in wherever they wanted. My client asked me to measure the panels as installed, and revise the plans.
This is just lawyer nonsense.

Could have been accomplished with a license or franchise agreement.
