NO DRONES - YET

I understand it has always been this way. No commercial use currently allowed.
Public entities can apply for a Certificate of Authorization or Waiver (COA).

The whole process is under-review and the FAA is going to beta test sites too see if they can remove the commercial restriction to UAV's under yet to be determined guidelines and restrictions.

Arkansas Bill...

PROHIBITING THE USE OF AN UNMANNED AERIAL DEVICE THAT IS EQUIPPED WITH A VIDEO RECORDING DEVICE EXCEPT WHEN USED BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OR AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY PERSONNEL.

SB1109

I guess Nate and Big Help will have to get the property owner's permission to fly their camera kite.

2 issues: privacy and safety.

Privacy as far as drones can be used to spy and look into personal activities (think bathroom windows. Can it also monitor your personal wifi?

Safety as far as danger to other aircraft and danger from crashing into people and property.

Needs discussion.
