Is that paid to the draftman or just for billing purposes?

I would like a category other than Senior Survey Technician (where I work) because a LOT of these button pushers couldn't technician their way out of a wet paper bag.

I see so many BAD examples of surveying it's not even funny and it's because they have little to no experience, office, field or a combination of both.

End rant

I agree with you there does need to be a better name, if a Party Chief or Crew Chief says he is a Party Chief or Crew Chief very few people know what he does, other than being able to throw a party. He can not say he is Surveyor without the risk of getting a fine.?ÿ

I get a few phone where someone wants to have their Lot surveyed, because the Surveyor told them something during their field work. I ask was he a Surveyor or the Crew Chief or someone on the field crew, most of the time they dont know or say well he said he was a Surveyor.?ÿ

It doesnt bother me when someone who is not Licensed calls themselves a Surveyor, what does bother me is when they say they are a Surveyor then they just give out bad and wrong advice. There are plenty of License Surveyors who give out bad advice and really don't know how to Survey, add in a new rodman giving out advice, its a reason Surveyors are not respected as much as we should be. Like Lawyers trying to get us to change our Surveys.?ÿ ?ÿ

I can not think of a better title for you, but I agree you do need a better title. According to the TBPLS rules you can not have Surveyor in your title unless you are a RPLS or SIT, and they may even fine a company for having Survey in someones title that is not License.?ÿ
