I just got my lease statement and going over line items. First is my payment then a sales tax on a lease payment. Then there is a charge for 2011 personal property tax. OK fine but then there is a sales tax charged for Personal property tax! Geez. It is depressing sometimes. Makes me wonder if they actually pay these taxes on taxes. Oh well. Back to work.

That was one of the big reasons I decided against a lease when I bought my robot. The thought of paying full sales tax on the front end and then again on each lease payment was more than I could bear.

Lease options never have been a favorite of mine. They have their purpose and place in certain aspects of business, surveying included.

With all the up front costs and taxes for taxes and the rear end damage, as a small business operator, it seemed a better deal to take a loan and pay it out for 42 to 60 months and it would still be mine.

I don't buy something if it is not going to be used.

If I can make a profit and pay for something on the first job, I'll buy just about anything.

If I need expensive equipmant for a one time deal, I hire someone locally that has the equipment for that phase of the project and let them share that liability.

😉

I've got a lease with Trinity Bank and no such charges apply. This is the last lease with LCA. Makes me wonder if Trimble owns them. Nickel and dime everything they can.
