Fascinating. That is the first I have heard of an LS getting sanctioned for their expert witness testimony. Has anyone come across this before?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting. I have attended some of Joe Curd's continuing ed boundary surveying classes. He knows his stuff. The Licensure Board for Kentucky is also pretty effective. I don't know the specifics of this case but I'm sure there is a lot that is not printed.

I've taken a few Ethics courses presented by Joe Curd and KAPS, I thought he was one of the best presenter's I've had in my long survey career....could very well be more to the story....

Methinks the opposing surveyor filed a complaint after Mr. Curd stated the other surveyor didn't do his research. I think the board wanted a scalp and saw an opportunity to take it, justified or not. This has politics written all over it.

It seems that a portion of my post did not survive a mistake I made while trying to post.

In General it was a supposition that Mr. Curd may have PO'd someone(s) on the board or someone who has influence with the board and an opportunity, however strong or weak it may have been, was presented and the board couldn't jump on it fast enough or hard enough.

So much for suppositions.:-P

I don't believe that the witness stand protects you from being charges with slander, defamation, or dis-honest practice.

That is what I learned from reading the courts decision.

Sounds like someone got a little to mouthy and judgmental on the stand, and got punished for it.

Thanks for posting. It is good to see someone actually take a board to task for being capricious.
