Not surprising that the railroad asked a highly inflated price for the land. Our local railroad engineering office charges ridiculous fees for copies of their Val-maps. Last I knew, it was $30 per sheet, and that was ten years ago.

Working for a Railroad, I can say that this standard practice.?ÿ There is typically little to no negotiating on anything.?ÿ $30 would be a deal for Val Maps now. Some Railroads won't release them, even for a fee.
