What is the optimum length of a power nap? This excludes our acquaintances who are more productive while sleeping...

I say 30 minutes....

For me, no more than 15 minutes. 30 max after that I'm groggy.

If I nap for more than 10 minutes, I can't go to sleep at night. But I only take a nap perhaps once every 2 months, and that's usually after a couple mid day adult beverages. I'd rather go for a walk or bike ride than take a nap - get the blood & oxygen flowing, not slowing down.

Unless of course that nap would include some quality SWMBO time... then all bets are off....;-)

Who wastes their time napping? Get it at night or not at all. That being said, I'm a late riser but also a very late giveruper.

I'm an avid napper, and most of the time I go for about 20 minutes. I generally don't set a limit, and just wake up when I wake up. If I've not slept well the night before, I might sleep for an hour.

I avoid napping after 3:00 p.m.; unless I'm really sleep-deprived, napping too late in the afternoon messes up my bedtime.

It depends how far you are driving. 🙂

No such thing for me. If I go to sleep during the daytime, it's 6 hours or nothing. Anything less and I'm not worth shooting. My routine is 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, rain or shine.

For me, normally 20 to 40 minutes. In college, that used to drive my room mates nuts. I'd wake up and go back to studying. My late father had the same "talent."
