A.I. "Hallucinations" in Legal Briefs

I listened to a radio interview about artificial intelligence "hallucinations" in legal briefs where the AI bots have fabricated non-existent case law to make a point. Scary, stupid stuff which you can google up and find a plethora of articles like this and this.

Is this sinister or ominous? According to A.I.:

While both "sinister" and "ominous" suggest something threatening or potentially harmful, "sinister" often implies a more deliberate or malicious evil, while "ominous" focuses on the foreboding or foreshadowing of negative events, often with a sense of impending doom or danger. 

Or maybe that A.I. comparison is just a fever dream hallucination...
