I've started surveying when i finished hs in 2003  since  then till present  Iv surveyed about 15 years of those years  . This is not counting the time i spent as a child going out on Saturdays to survey with my grandfather and father(both PLS's) . I grew up in it.
My experience is split the beginning 7-8years I worked for my father's non union company doing primarily subdivision staking ,residential topo/boundaries,  flood certs, cattle ranch boundaries etc then I went and worked for some larger union companies in SF Bay area doing all commercial projects which included high rise buildings lay out and asbuilts, large scale tilt up warehouse construction staking , and a lot a lot of large topo/altas/ record of surveys many large scale multi week topos . I also have 1.5 years  experience doing construction staking calcs,  making plots, dispatching crews , and coordinating with clients.
