I have just bought a completely mint DTM330 that I am trying to use to do some fairly simple surveying as a bit of a semi retirement project. Although the DTM 330 is supposed to connect to a PC through a serial connection, apparently some of them were shipped with firmware that doesn't allow this. Mine has V1.04 firmware, which apparently doesn't allow data to be uploaded or downloaded to PC. (Is this really true?? Seems an important feature so why decide to hobble the firmware?) This is obviously a bit of a limitation. Apparently, it can be updated by plugging in 2 new EPROMs. I need V2.0 or later. I probably don't even need the EPROMs themselves - the firmware image would probably be enough as I'm sure I could burn some in the UK. If anyone know anything about this or knows where I could get the firmaware, I'd be very grateful. I'm in the UK. Nikon haven't been very helpful.
