Got a reprieve from the ROW research and ADA layout I was chained to and was asked to go out and verify some control and feasibility of occupation of a set control point the Streets crews thought would be a great Idea to build a safety railing nearly on top of.
Dam monitoring points.?ÿ or Damn monitoring points.?ÿ You pick.

My view there was far better than at my desk, with the Covid unknown people flowing into and out of the building foyer to cast their ballots for the winner of all things most important.

First person to correctly determine where this is( not very hard actually) wins a prize of libation or caffienation or a random gift that you've likely never seen before.

I don't know where this is, but I do know that I have a few stints of weeks at a time on coral atolls where the elevation generally varies by about a meter, and the first thing I do when I get back home is go for a walk in the hills.
I laugh to think when i look at these peaks, my previous house was literally over 1000' higher than these sit currently, and I wasn't even on a peak.....?ÿ Just ask Gene Cooper.?ÿ Park county is way up there.?ÿ Fairplay sits at 9953'msl.?ÿ The hills are a great respite from the rest.
There's hardly any green vegetation, and mountains are too pointy, so we can eliminate all of the New England states. I'm going to go with outside the big fence at Area 51.

That pic is from Google street view, I have never been there in my life.
My Dad died in 1981. My Mother remarried in 2002 to an absolutely wonderful man. When they both retired, they went all over the country by motor home including both coast and Alaska. My stepdad grew up near the base of that mountain range and worked on a ranch right at the base of them somewhere. It's been a few years since I heard the whole story. He died a couple of years ago but his home screen on the computer was those mountains. I still see it every Sunday.
It took me a little while to verify using google street view but I knew it looked familiar.
Another funny part of the story was that his grandfather and great uncle had gotten caught in some kind of scheme involving cattle somewhere along the Texas coast. They decided to draw straws, the winner would skip town with a new name and the loser would stay and take the full blame. Years later, after ending up here in East Texas, he figured out that his second cousin was living next to my sister.
