Set our first temporary casing today with 20 mph wind and strong under current but it??s in place. Took a vibro-hammer and a lot of patience but she??s in there.

I am a bit of a Topcon hater but that is a handsome instrument.

Hope you got reflectorless for shooting in iron from shore though, bit of a must I reckon.
Ooh, ooh, can I be the guy holding the pole thingy hanging off the cables and attempting to keep it from moving long enough to get the shot?
Years ago I was slightly related to a piling project that was something to do with underpinning massive buildings to improve earthquake resistance. Some of the piling went out into the sea. It was a nationally important event, and the national news team went to site to interview our Project Manager. He gave a very concise and clear explanation of what was going on. We all made sure we were watching the news that night to see him in action but we were disappointed to see they'd done some trimming, and the only bit they showed was right at the end of the interview where he said "Yeah, it makes a "f beep g" big splash when it hits the water".
If you look closely at the left end of the barge, you'll see the rodman in a blue hard-hat and already wearing the life-ring.
Quite a bit different level of technology then what we had a Surveys R' Us.?ÿ I am sure you are loving the change!
The tech is much lower but it??s, in some ways, more enjoyable. The pace is much slower too which is nice.
I can??t say anything ??bad? about the surveying machine. They were all, and some still are, very good to me and I??m grateful for everything and all I learned while I was there.?ÿ
Actually, the ??rodman? is our superintendent. He runs a tight ship and is willing to get his hands dirty just as much as anyone else. He??s a true pleasure to work with.?ÿ
The ??kid? (he??s 20) in the blue hard hat is a laborer trying to do better for himself and his family. He??s got some struggles but doing a good job and finding his way.?ÿ
