This is the NE corner of my folks?? place. It had been re-established by Keith Williams in 1973. It has been reset 2 times since then. The 2nd guys noted the cap was oriented incorrectly, but he straightened it back up. In about 2010 the Fiber optic utility hit it somehow while installing a vault about 15 feet away. It broke the cap and shove the mon to the ENE. After tying other monuments, in the area, I dug it out enough to straighten is and repaired the cap with JB Weld ala Pail Harvey and a worm gear hose clamp, and rebuilt the mound and reset the witness post. Don??t tell anyone, but I did it using RTK.... these are some before during and after pics....

(When I was in town getting the JB Weld and worm gear, I also had to stop at DQ for a Blizzard, you know..just so I??d have a stirring stick )

Here??s the final view, looking NNE.
Nice! Like the photos.
Its a shame they made you pay and eat a full Blizzard when all you wanted was that fancy stirrer.
I told SWMBO that they were going to charge me $4.69 for the spoon whether or not I iBook the blizzard, so it really was the only thing to do... I??m showing it as ??Tools? on my work recipes....
You forgot to install the dimple.?ÿ
Nice data collector placement. Good way to eliminate glare and a sore neck ????ÿ
@drew-ri assumed he was a little short guy.
@skeeter1996 I'm 6'2" or 3" in my boots and I could see switching it up to this. That is if I ever get back in the field ??? not much sense speculating on DC placement when all I do is survey from behind a desk!
I also like the ketchup and mustard bipod.
@drew-r the flat / vertical screen near eye level does help with glare and neck strain. It does change the Center of gravity on the rod but not bad. As far as the cross breed bi-pod
?use it up
wear it out
make do
or do without.
